What do you want the children in your care to gain while in your program?:
A love of learning, self confidence, respect for self and others. Positive social skills, growth in all developmental domains. Bonds that last a lifetime.
What sets your Agency apart from the other area Agencies?:
Our center is small, which gives all staff a chance to get to know all children, not just those in their own respective classroom. We have wonderful, open communication with our families and are always trying to provide our children with new and exciting opportunities. It is a family oriented atmosphere with an open door policy. It isn’t something we just write in our philosophy, but something we truly practice.
Do you have the resources to accept special needs children?:
We have limited resources to accept special needs children.
What is your Agency’s educational philosophy?:
We want all children to develop at their own pace and adjust the curriculum to meet the child’s needs. We provide fun, yet educational activities to get the children excited about learning.
Have you had an “aha” moment with a child and/or a surprising result from the use of a classroom activity?:
Yes, I was so excited to do the volcano activity with my class and couldn’t wait to see the expressions on their faces when the volcano ‘blew up’ with the vinegar/ baking soda mix. The reaction was so lukewarm, I was more excited over it then the children. That taught me that curriculum comes from the children.
Is there anything else about your Agency that you would like to be mentioned?:
Our center is warm and friendly, and our teachers are highly experienced. We have a very diverse culture of students, which helps the children learn about tolerance and respect for other ethnicities.
