Covid-19 Update:

To slow the spread of coronavirus, Governor Baker has issued an emergency order temporarily closing all early childhood education programs across the State of Massachusetts and to suspend providing childcare by 11:59pm on Sunday, March 22, 2020.This will remain in effect until June 29, 2020 and may be extended as needed.

All families should keep their children out of group care settings to the greatest extent possible and abide by social distancing protocols laid out by the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).

The state recognizes that essential employees may have extraordinary need for childcare and has opened emergency childcare programs across the state to provide critical support to prioritized workers who have no other option.

Please note:

  • This is NOT business usual.
  • Parents should make every effort to find alternative care that is not group care.
  • There are a very limited number of sites operating as emergency drop-in centers.
  • Priority is given to essential employees including but not limited to: health care workers, essential state and human service workers, COVID-19 health workers, grocery store employees, emergency response personnel, law enforcement, transportation and infrastructure workers, sanitation workers, DCF-involved families, and families living in shelters.
  • There is limited capacity at the emergency drop-in sites.
  • Parents can find a program on https://eeclead.force.com/apex/EEC_ChildCareEmergencyProcedure - This list will be updated throughout the week as more centers/programs are approved to open.
  • Parents must call/email first to determine availability.

We wish you and your family continued health.  These are very stressful times that we are navigating.  Take care of yourself and your loved ones.  Together we will get through this.
