At Kids Kount we believe that your young people are our greatest resource. A child’s first encounter with a school situation should be a positive and happy experience. As Kids Kount children are allowed the freedom to make choices, to experiment, discover and experience learning by “doing.” Through a variety of media, they are given the opportunity to explore their environment in an atmosphere where the individual and his personal contributions are highly cherished. Our task is to guide children in their journey of becoming highly sensitive to…and aware of the world about them…Give them freedom…Let them try…Let them fail…Let them succeed…Encourage them and celebrate with them. The purpose of Kids Kount Nursery School is to provide for social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of young children in an atmosphere of loving guidance. The family will

  • Be recognized as their child’s first teacher
  • Work in partnership with the early childhood staff
  • Enable their children to become successful learners

Children will

  • Be treated as equals with affection and respect
  • Be treated as individuals and encouraged to develop at their own rate

The classroom will

What do you want the children in your care to gain while in your program?: 

Our goal at Kids Kount is to make everyday a unique and interesting challenge.  To expose children to play and learning situations and give them the opportunity to explore, problem solve, accept small responsibilities, form friendships, share ideas, express creatively, follow directions and step daily to their own new direction.  Finally and most importantly, I would like the children to approach future learning experiences with confidence and courage and to view school as an exciting challenge they are thrilled to be participating in.

What sets your Agency apart from the other area Agencies?: 

Kids Kount Nursery School welcomes our families as a valued part of our program.  Our staff works in partnership with our families; ecourage family participation in the classroom, on field trips and through Home-to-School Activities.  We have 6 field trips which are provided at no cost to families.  Our children are treated with respect and affection and we view each child as an individual and encourage them to develop at their own rate.  The children at Kids Kount learn to communicate with peers and teachers in a respectful manner.  We provide children with a positive learning environment and strive to make each day a unique and interesting experience.  Kids Kount offers tuition reduction for needy families.

What is your Agency’s educational philosophy?: 

At Kids Kount we strive to complement and build upon experiences that begin at home.  We work to nuture relationships with our families that are based on mutual respect and confidence.  Young children grow and learn best in a developmentally appropriate environment.  We provide opportunities for creative activities, socialization, and emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Have you had an “aha” moment with a child and/or a surprising result from the use of a classroom activity?: 

Each day presents a new "aha" moment with the children.  I love exposing them to "hands on" science activities - like the life cycles of frogs, butterflies and plants and watch their wonder at each stage of their development.  It's fascinating to watch their confidence, curiosity and comfort grow each day.  I am especially delighted to see the chidlren develop into a classroom community and cultivate responsibility for themselves and their classmates.  The "aha" moments are what makes early childhood truly a joy!

Is there anything else about your Agency that you would like to be mentioned?: 

We welcome Parents and their children to come and tour our Program.  Parents can call to set up a convienent time.  After touring our center Parents will be given a packet of materials about our program.
