Elm Park Center is a not-for-profit educational institution that strives to provide high quality, developmentally based childcare and professional teaching staff to the early childhood field for the greater Worcester community. We believe that individuals will reach their full potential through programs that recognize and support each student's level of development in all areas of growth and learning. The ongoing assessment of each individual's strengths, interests, and needs assists in determining the educational experiences that are appropriate and satisfying. By providing the necessary elements for quality educational opportunities, each student is given the chance to achieve success in the learning process and develops a more positive self-image.

Childcare Agency of the Month Questions
What do you want the children in your care to gain while in your program?:

We have a diverse and interesting curriculum that is developed through assessments and observations made of each child. The curriculum is based in each child’s interests and abilities giving them the opportunity to learn and feel accomplishments. Through these experiences the child builds self-esteem, social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.

What sets your Agency apart from the other area Agencies?:

Our agency serves diverse families with different socio – economic backgrounds as well as different cultures: giving the children the opportunity to learn and accept differences that will help them be positive members of our society. We employ a bi-lingual staff.

Do you have the resources to accept special needs children?:

Our program makes every effort to accommodate children with challenging physical and learning abilities.

What is your Agency’s educational philosophy?:

Our program believes that each individual can reach his or her full potential through a program that recognizes and supports each person’s level of development in all areas of learning and growth.

Have you had an “aha” moment with a child and/or a surprising result from the use of a classroom activity?:

There have been times when a child connects what he or she has learned to a real life scenario. At that moment the teacher also learns that what she has taught has meaning to the child.

Is there anything else about your Agency that you would like to be mentioned?:

Elm Park Center is accredited through NAEYC. We have an embedded behavioral consultation specialist through Community Health Link’s Together For Kids Program that provides services to children and their families as needed and, also, provides feedback and support to our teachers. Breakfast, lunch and snack, cooked in our own kitchen by an experienced cook are served daily. Formula and baby food for the infants is provided at no additional cost to the parents. The agency has a nut-free policy. Our KidFit program emphasizes positive health and fitness activities with support from a certified fitness instructor.
